visited the emergency department at this hospital for the flu and to get a health report. My experience was very frustrating. The cashier misled me by saying that, due to my insurance, the emergency doctor could not provide the report, implying it was an insurance restriction. When I called my insurance company, they confirmed that no such restriction exists. It seemed this misinformation was used to benefit the hospital rather than the patient. I asked the cashier to speak to the insurance representative on my phone, but she refused, saying she was not an insurance employee. The insurance employee was not available until 2:30, causing further delays. To get the health report, I was told I would have to visit one of their specialist clinics, which don’t open until after 4:00 PM. Additionally, the emergency doctor took a long time to come and see me. Overall, I found the administrative handling of insurance issues misleading and unhelpful, and the process to obtain a simple health report unnecessarily complicated. I hope the hospital improves transparency, communication, and patient care processes.
