If you are a foreign i dont recommend this hospital at all. We’ve contacted the secretary from JSK clinic (Nagham) to book an appointment with Dr.Hayman Hamdad. She gave us a price of 6500 dollars. Told us to come to the hospital at the same day of surgery and do the investigation and go through with the operation on the same day ( calmed doctor approved of this). We booked tickets and went to see this doctor which he kept us waiting for 1.5 hours to see him!! Gave us a different price (5000 dollars). When we tried to do labs, staff were asking for bribes indirectly!!! When we refused to pay they kept delaying us!! We stopped contacting the secretary as she was obviously trying to robe us 1500 dollars, she kept sending messages threatening to cancel the operation. On the day of surgery, they changes the price back to 6500, staff were rude. The doctor changed the price we agreed on to 7000$ !! Staff told us that this doctor is the CEO of the hospital?! We canceled everything and booked a ticket back home. Very unprofessional unethical hospital. Worst experience ever.
If i could i would give them zero stars! The worst possible hospital in Hawler, the staff are SO RUDE. You can’t even ask them basic questions in fear of them being rude! Imagine scheduling an operation for 11AM but then doing it at 4PM and then saying thats just how it is! And then they called us during the operation telling us in the middle of operation they have taken our patients to ICU and the doctor needs us ASAP, we ask why? Why ICU? Their ans is “idk” simply IDK. The fear they put the patient through getting them admitted to the hospital at 8AM promising the operation at 11 and then delaying it so much, the fear they put our family through! And still being treated rudely, regardless of the bag of money they take!!
Sorry to say this but it happened several times to me. Some doctors in this hospital (especially in the emergency department and some other departments as well) are arrogant, not polite, not professional and do not care about the patient's mental health. Their way of dealing with them is very rude and they do not want to discuss matters related to the patient's health (just take your medicine and leave). In the lab, they do not sterilize their hands before drawing blood to avoid transmitting diseases (even after being informed, their faces turn red and get angry at the request, even it is necessary). If the hospital wants to maintain its reputation, it must care about these matters, monitor their staff and doctors work and require the doctors and staff to respect the patient because half of the treatment is psychological, and no one comes to the hospital and spends money to have fun.
My husband was in severe pain early in the morning and I took him in to the Par Emergency room -before 9 am. We were one of only a few people there and were seen immediately. The staff was professional and helpful. I believe they had all labs finished, ultrasound completed, and a diagnosis within the first 45 minutes. Emergency surgery was scheduled a little later that day (2:30 pm). All went well. Doctors and nurses checked in several times. We were given the choice to stay overnight in a private room or go home, to which my husband chose home. We left around midnight. For those who are foreign, the system may be a little different. Each step at the hospital you must pay for and if any medication is needed you must go outside to the Pharmacy -I made 7 trips to the accountant and 7 trips to the pharmacy. For example, as my husband was being wheeled back to surgery, I was asked to run to the pharmacy to get medication / IVs -I'm assuming which was used during surgery. This is important to note, as you may want to bring a friend or family member to assist you in the running -especially if you are in pain. I only mention this in case there are any single people who may read this, as I once lived as a single in this country. :) My only complaint is I wish there had been some better pain killers for my husband afterward, but I think we figured it all out and he's all good now... Oh and the parking is really difficult too once it gets busy midday! Thanks, Par Hospital!
